Beetles to Butterflies

THE VISION 

Beetles to Butterflies brings together talented young musicians (ages 11–18) from across the New Forest — from Priestlands, Brockenhurst College, Walhampton and beyond — for one big professional concert experience this autumn.

The programme is theirs: the young people will perform their own original material alongside well-known favourites, in a show shaped by them from start to finish.

Where we are now

Applications for this iteration of the project are now closed, and the real work has begun. After an initial discovery session the young musicians will be in preparation — mentoring and coaching one another on audition and performance techniques, working with professional conductor Phil Daish-Handy and professional viola player, April Vincent, who will bring the show to life.

It all leads to one night: 21 November at St. Thomas' Church. The concert is free and open to everyone — come and see what they've built together.

THE PARTNERSHIP 

Nova Foresta Philharmonic provides professional musical expertise through conductor Phil Daish-Handy. Culture in Common (Arts Council funded) supports the project through their Small Commissions grant.
